The Pattern

The Pattern –

When we know something will cause us pain or misery, but we do it all the same, we resist the message from our higher self.

At some point in your life, you notice that you have created patterns; the same things that come up time and time again in your life and you recognize that you have been “here” before.  You may experience pain, loss and discomfort when you are in that pattern. You may pay attention to those feelings for a little while, then dismiss them when the next “distraction” comes along.  Surely that next distraction will lead you into the same pattern, and when you get there again and again and again you cannot help but know that something has to change.

But does it?

Our patterns are programmed deep within us like a tape recording that plays over and over . . . we know what’s coming, we’ve been here before, we continue to allow it to happen.

Our first obstruction is our belief that “things happen to us” we are a product of circumstances, not the author of our path.

Self-responsibility is the key to unlock us from this bondage, but we disregard it time and time again.

We will actually stay in a painful spin cycle:

    • because it is familiar
    • because we know what to expect
    • because we fear change
    • because it is overwhelming to consider stepping out of our programmed patterns

The patterns remain intact because they are symptoms of something deeper that we are unaware of or are unwilling to uncover.

Generally speaking, our conditioning is:

    • to look good
    • to sound good
    • to “play the part”
    • to keep that ego going strong

That ego which hides our pain and shrouds our darkness. That part of us we are so trained to not allow anyone to see.

So the pattern continues!

We exert a tenfold effort to continue to hide our Authentic Self; that freedom which is like a child waiting to come forth allowing us to “be”.

What will it take for you to break out of the patterns that no longer serve you?

What can you do when you have come to the point where you recognize that things must change and ultimately, you must change?

Love!!! I wouldn’t expect anything less, but wanted to tell you how much I enjoy and apprecIate your words. I interrupted the pattern and left a company that I was with 19 years to start my own. Leap of faith, but I knew I was maintaining and not growing. I kept expecting things to change (insanity) and when they didn’t I was disappointed. Finally realized I was the one that needed to make a change. Your words helped me do that! Keep it up and btw love the logo.

I was just listing a list of potential pattern interrupters (thinking from Tony Robbins’ teachings) and I decided to Google the phrase “Pattern Interrupters” and came eventually to your website! Great information!

I look forward to studying your material and will see how it can help me to stay on track (or get back on track). By the way, I’m a fairly competitive athlete for my age (mid 50’s), so one might think it would be “easy” to relinquish bad habits, but it’s not! I like what I’ve read so far and will see if I can get beyond my “silly” pattern interrupters. Thanks in advance. Why can’t we just connect some sort of electrical device to our skin and turn it on whenever we’re about to do something not in our best FUTURE interests? It would be much easier than cold water on your head (impractical during a busy day anyway) or a snap of a rubber band on your wrist!

Now available at Walmart: PATTERN INTERRUPTERS in 10 and 20 volts! Stay on Track! Get yours today! (A joke)

Ha Love it Thomas..yes that would be a great device..I’ve even gone further in my research of human behavior and found it has been proven over and over again our habits are next to impossible to change. What we can change are our routines within the habits.

I hope you enjoy the book..glad to connect.
