Truth –

A very wise person once said when dealing with conflict between two people:

there are three sides to every story; his, hers and the truth.

We often put our own “spin” on things and believe what we want to believe, regardless of what the truth is.

• Why do we do that?
• Is it that hard to recognize the truth?
• Is our need to be right or to be the victor or victim so strong in us that we go into denial or ignore the obvious?
• Will our ego not allow us to see the forest for the trees?
• Is “saving face”, “self preservation” or “preserving the status quo” more important to us than facing what can sometimes be inconvenient, ugly or embarrassing?

It has been believed that the truth shall set you free, unfortunately that freedom only comes after the truth has taken you through the bowels of your being, but nobody talks about that.

Why do we fear the truth? Run from it? Disguise it? Sugar-coat it? Tell “little white lies”? Are we really so un-evolved that we need to fabricate stories which make us look or feel better? Perhaps we have never taken the time to understand the journey of the truth.

Deception is employed on a daily basis in most people’s reality. Have you ever noticed that deception, half truths, cover-ups, lies, and manipulations seem to be more socially accepted than the truth?

Face it, the truth is not always pretty, it does not always make us feel good and it is not very politically correct. In short, it is not favored in most social circles.

Have you ever tried to go one whole day without lying or fabricating? Would you ever have the courage to challenge yourself to “come clean” and or tell the truth regardless of how difficult it is?

Moreover, do you have the courage to dig deep inside of yourself and find your personal truth?
