The darkness we experience

is likened to the fertile earth where we plant our seeds.

It is in the darkness, the place where gestation happens, where roots are formed: This is where we build the foundation for that which will spring forth into the light for growth.

Our inner darkness is a place within that we need to constantly sanitize; after careful examination of our garden, we can understand what feeds us and what harms us. Through a careful and thoughtful discernment process, we can identify what needs “weeding”: The growth of old programming, that which no longer serves us.

If you cut the weeds on the surface, the roots get stronger and the weed comes back with great power, dealing with them on the surface level does more harm than good. Some weeds are easy to identify and pull up from the surface, roots and all, others require tools, skills and even digging deeply into the earth to release them. We may, at times, need to consult others to identify our “weeds”.

This process is continual, it is by no means a one-time event in your life.

The process of removing the weeds at the root level can be daunting, even scary; this is the nature of the journey into the fertile darkness within.

You must, then, look at it as a process; inch by inch, it is a “cinch” yard by yard, that’s when it gets hard. Begin with baby steps and a daring fearlessness and before you know it you will find yourself in the depths, once there you will understand that not only was fear an illusion but it was, in fact, only your ego wanting to hold on to that which serves it and not your greatest good.

Whenever you remove these “weeds” you are ready to sow the seeds of that which will feed you; that witch you wish to attain.
